Morningstar: Book of the Fallen an adult urban fantasy video game/RPG called Morningstar is situated in a grim and dismal New York. As a young MMA fighter, you take on a role whose life is irrevocably altered the day he meets an angel. For those who have played Love of Magic before, this is essentially a remake of the game, but with a developer with a few more years of experience. If you enjoyed Love of Magic, you’ll see that this is a direct improvement, with some of the more annoying aspects (such as the clan things and the never-ending power embellishments) somewhat toned down. Since the characters have similar functions, you will be able to distinguish them pretty easily. The plot is well-written and resembles that of LoM. It moves along at a perfect pace, never feeling either too quick or too slow. The world has also become much more logical and consistent as a result of the moderate to severe pruning of the text’s infinite character power descriptions.

It feels better than in LoM because of how effectively the grandiose storyline and the personal plot mesh together. Overall, this is a straightforward update, and thus far, the plot is engaging. The style is the same as LoM, with cutscenes of similar quality and movement. Some characters look fine, like Emily or Molly, while others, like Snowdrop, look at bit weird. Some are a combination of both depending on angle, like the coffee lady. The cutscenes, while not perfect, do a great job of conveying significance, intentional or not. This is not a game you play for the graphical fidelity, but it does work fine for portraying the story. graphical improvement I would ask for is related to the angel wings. They are tiny.
