Overview Silent Hill Homecoming:

The story follows Alex Shepherd, a young man who returns to his hometown of Shepherd’s Glen following a supposed military discharge and time spent in a hospital for combat related injuries. Alex returns home only to find that his father and younger brother, Joshua, have vanished without a trace, as have many others throughout the town. He finds his mother in a depressive, near catatonic state. Alex searches through the town for his missing brother while uncovering the causes behind the strange events and the dark secrets of the neighboring town of Silent Hill.

You play as a commander which has the ability to move about the map as he wishes. As the commander in the field, you can quickly change tactics or use a special ability at a whim. Upon getting hurt or shot, the commander regenerates his health. The units are not as fortunate and do not have this ability. This is where the commander steps in. To heal units (or to use any special ability), the commander has to put down a regenerative power up and units have to pass over it within a certain amount of time to heal. After a few seconds, the healing pad will disappear therefore proper placement is almost everything in the game. To acquire more power up supply, the units have to destroy machines as they leave stock behind.

So, there are 14 missions in the story. You start with a few vehicles and need to plan your way to complete tasks. Most of the time you need to reach certain points on the map or destroy a several towers. The sequel brings new mechanics. Each unit has 2 modes, for example, the hammer unit is a long distance artillery, but it can shoot only forward. You can transform it to rocket machine which has 360 radius of fire, but has less range and less health.If you just used abilities in the original game, in this game you need constantly transform units, using abilities, change route.
