Overview Mobmania:

Fight, level up, buy, survive! Choose from multiple stages! Can you do it? Start off at level 1 with only your character’s unique weapon. As you fight mobs, they will drop XP, which you can collect to level up. Leveling up opens up a shop where you can purchase new equips or upgrade your current ones in order to become stronger. Last 20 minutes to win, or enter a portal which allows you to continue on, though the mobs are notably stronger. Fight 27+ unique bosses! Explore the catalogue of items! As you play, bosses will appear, each with their own unique attacks and abilities. Each stage has their own set of bosses. The more you play, the more you will become familiar with the available items, increasing your odds of success. Currently, there are 14 playable characters. As the game is still in Early Access, we have plans to continually add more and more playable characters, each with their own unique set of skills and playstyles for you to try.

Some players will definitely stop playing within the first 15 minutes, not because the game is bad but because their brain isn’t able to cope with the visual input when floors become walls or ceilings and the perspective changes over and over again (not randomly but controlled by the player), inducing nausea in some. The graphics are simple and excellent at the same time. Simple in the way that there are not many moving objects or special effects or videos. Excellent in the way that the endless world never breaks and the tricks optics play on your mind are just astonishing. I would definitely categorize this game as a puzzler, although I think the actual puzzles themselves are quite easy. But, like Fez, there is a whole second layer to this game that you can easily miss if you don’t pay too much attention to your surroundings, and THOSE puzzles are definitely hard, but they aren’t necessary to beat the game the “intended way.” So many modern puzzle-exploration games do this now thanks to Braid and Fez that I basically expect it at this point, and I hope it never changes.
