Using the Ruler Orb, a tactical artifact passed down in his family for generations, Alex has the ability to command others on the battlefield. With his childhood friend Citrin in tow, along with his dorky advisor Lazuli, he seeks to find the truth behind the anomalies that threaten all the people of Pedra.

The games are feeling more and more like Sim City and less like the fun and silly satire of Banana Republics that was the game’s inspiration. A lot of the fun of the original was the style of the cartoonish citizens and buildings. All of that has been replaced with hi-res but low concept structures and characters that do not at all match the tongue-in-cheek humor that has defined the game. The missions are still fun and the voice actors are amusing, but the game designers really need to go back and look at the original and Tropico 4 in particular.

This game is pretty fun to play, personally I think it is better and also easier to get Achievements if you have more than 1 player. I would recommend starting on Drizzle and working your way up. If you are even somewhat of an achievement hunter like me, I would focus on getting one Achievement at a time, preferably ones that are simple. As you get these Achievements you will unlock Gear that you will receive when you open a chest, and if you accomplish a feat for a character you will also unlock an alternate ability for that character. There are also other characters to unlock.
