I’ve played a bunch of backroom games, I love the idea of it and the lore and everything. When people think of backroom games they probably think about Escape the backrooms which is objectively the best backrooms experience, I mean I have like 100+ hours in it and it focuses on adventure and survival. Then there is inside the backrooms which is more open and puzzle based. Multiplayer wise those have got to be the best at there sectors and from level 0 to level 1 I have to say this game is incredible. It sits perfectly between both and focuses less on jump scares but more on paranoia. When playing through it we loved the camera objectives and how unique the levels where. But from then on out it became a chore where you would die over and over again trying to figure out what to do. It turned into a running away from the entity game very very fast.
That doesn’t mean it wasn’t fun but I just didn’t expect to spend 3 hours on Level 6. Honestly this game has tonnes of potential and I recommend you get it just wait for the dev to go back to some of the earlier levels to polish it up first like they did in update 0.5. TL:DR: update added a lot of things that don’t really make a whole lot of sense and another layer of mechanics that also do nothing except fluff up your TAB screen (game also not just for me but my friends runs worse than before) and trash inventory. This update honestly is a pretty BAD mixed bag, sanity added for no reason (and doesn’t seem to do anything currently), the inventory system is trash esp on the first level with multiple people we died and then our friend didn’t have enough to grab the last 2 tapes because the game doesn’t let you rotate the items in your inventory. It somehow runs slightly worse imo as I had to lower the graphics down this time unlike before where I had it running on either ultra or high but now its on medium. Oh and on the second level our friend who even though we were watching the creature as you are supposed to. It kept walking up and killed him and then he CRASHED forcing everyone off the server. Will change review if game gets better
