Despelote Direct Download:

despelote is a soccer game about people. Get immersed in the streets and parks of Quito through the eyes and ears of eight year old Julián. Dribble, pass and shoot your soccer ball around town, and see what happens when you kick it someone’s way. Feel the city change as Ecuador comes closer than ever to qualifying for the World Cup. it’s one of the many great touches of this game that feel very immersive. one of my favorite feeling in this game was noticing myself getting distracted and missing parts of conversations while kicking a ball around. it felt very apt for this character there’s one moment that draws a sharp contrast to this that’s excellent. i like how only certain things are done in the drawn style- things that the main character cares about. Vellum

Great experience if you want a short intimate nostalgic trip through time – culturally rich and made with love. My favorite aspects were the graphical style and the music, and the freedom you have to just vibe with the game is perfect. Looking forward to replaying it. Playful, dreamy, and poetic. Highly effective at immersing you in a very particular time and place, and making you think about the fallible nature of memory and nostalgia. Absolutely beautiful. A bold new direction for videogame storytelling.
