The puzzles really heat up (in a good way) as you progress. None are so frustrating that you are tempted to rage quit. There aren’t many puzzle directions, but you can figure them out. I made them harder than they needed to be by expecting the devs to be devious; they are not. There is not a journal reminding you of what you need to do, but most of the time you are not overwhelmed with gathering items and accomplishing tasks. I took quick notes and pictures when I knew I wouldn’t have time to play for a bit. There are alternate endings. When you are halfway up the stairs in chapter ten you cannot save. I had a save part way up the stairs and used it to see the other endings.
