The missions in Code 3 are very simple, with the intent to portray situations LEOs have to deal with IRL. All the scenarios start off with a call from dispatch, stating the situation and its details. The gunfights are overall very boring. It becomes an asset flip version of Ready Or Not without any of the flair that accompanies it. The dumb suspect AI will usually result in them bum rushing the player with an AK-47 while player have wayyy more health than them. Once these gunfights end, the bodies are automatically reported to dispatch with the only objective left being to restrain anyone left on-site. When this is done, the game gives no indication that the mission is over, so the player just has to guess they did everything. The player is then given a score of how they did and that’s it.
This is how every single mission in Code 3 goes: spawn, dialogue, fight, secure, win. While there is a concept here that can be good, the execution in all of these areas is fumbled and unpolished. It’s not satisfying to play or complete with none of the missions being memorable. For a $15 USD price tag in EA, I had expected more.
