The new equipment items are, overall, besides the flashcards, super niche. The supplement book and dictaphone both require the player to micromanage the work types of every feeder staff in their aquarium, which can get very tedious on larger aquariums! The flash cards are great and obviously the best equipment item for talkers if you do not have Architect’s Collection, and the power tools function similarly to the toolbelt, but are unlocked rank 13 (so basically post-game) and slow down your staff members considerably.
The DLC also has a lack of decor items. It has a handful of ice pieces, and then a few items that give enrichment, grass, pebbles, or den, which are all exclusive to semiaquatic species. This doesn’t bother me too much personally, but if you’re looking for a DLC that emphasizes the creative aspects of the game, then look at Architect’s Collection, not this one.
My honest and biggest complaint is that a lot of the DLC mechanics are underutilized, particularly the new “bonus prestige” mechanic, which is exclusive to this DLC and now the clownfish in vanilla. Very few of the late-game animals utilize it, and it’s a 50/50 chance for the early game animals that it’s either too easy or too hard to actually meet the animal’s requirements. The abyssal tanks also feel pretty underutilized. In the campaign, you of course obtain every abyssal animal, but in sandbox, oftentimes you will get only a very small number of each species, which means the entire gimmick of the abyss tanks kinda becomes moot simply because it’s so easy to maintain the 2-3 abyss tanks you’re likely to have.
Overall, I’d say this is a really solid DLC, and better (for my gameplay) than Architect’s Collection. I definitely recommend getting it if you’re hooked on Megaquarium and had a blast with the previous two DLC’s, absolutely pick this one up. If you’re new to the game, I’d recommend playing through the vanilla campaign on its own, and picking up Freshwater Frenzy first. Harbor Havoc Lag Method Teleport Roblox Scripts
