Last Time I Saw You is a cozy and relaxing 2D exploration game. Light action, environmental puzzles, side quests and collectibles support its heartwarming narrative core, all dripping in nostalgia and affection for a time long gone. A really immersive experience right off the bat (haha), it’s an absolutely perfect play for a cozy and windy autumn evening, and the writing is amazing. Now I want some nice piping hot oden to go with it. I wish the gameplay and level design were more involved, as there’s lots of just moving forward in one direction. Thankfully however, the leash isn’t 100% tight, and the game does a great job at telling its coming-of-age story. Optional side quests exist here, but for me they might as well have been mandatory, with how beautifully written so many of the characters are.
