It looked like so much fun I had to try it…before I knew it, it was 2am and I had no intention of stopping. Even now, it remains just as enjoyably addictive. This is just as well, because the game goes on forever. Literally, forever. With the Chapter 3 update, New Game + was implemented, and you can play this game with progressively stronger weapons and enemies for as long as you want. Even if you don’t decide to play NG+, you’ve still got at least 40 hours of levels and bossfights- that’s about how long it took me to finish the game for the first time.

Speaking of sounds, have you *heard* the soundtrack for this game? Listen to the trailers, watch someone stream the game. The music is fantastic and matches the mood of the dream-based slaughterfest…oh would you look at that, it’s by Andrew Hulshult. That explains it. As for other, non-musical sounds, the weapons all sound gorgeous (the sawed-off’s alt-fire is how every shotgun should sound), to the point that sometimes I start using a weapon not because it has particularly strong modifiers, but because dammit, I really love the way it sounds. You will also enjoy the sounds of the enemies.
