Pocket Cars is a fast paced arcade combat-racing game, where you can drive RC cars that speed through amazing tracks. From real-life obstacles to outstanding off-road abilities, maneuverability and boost capacity of the realistic looking vehicles, an amazing racing experience await for you. Gameplay: Each car can be equipped with two different weapons. Choose your strategy before the race to take one step ahead of your opponents. Avoid the traps, upgrade your driving skills and use your weapons wisely to complete the challenges. The most obvious similarity between the two games are the tracks. There are two environments available in the current Early Access version: A typical American neighbourhood (Comparable to Re-Volts “Toys in the Hood” tracks), and a western-town scenario (Comparable to the “Ghost Town” tracks). But there is one big difference:

In Pocket Cars these tracks are open-world like, and there are several different race lines placed on the areas. This sounds not like a big problem at first, but it has a major disadvantage, that bugs me at the moment quite a lot: To show the race lines, Pocket Cars use some very unfitting in-game-visualisation, which does not fit to the rest of the very realistic visuals. Same goes for the checkpoints, pickups, and jumps. Now all these things look like “out of place”. They fulfil their job for sure, but I really would love to see a prettier solution for this in the end.

The next similarity is the use of pickups/weapons. However, compared to Re-Volt, Pocket Cars use a slightly different system: You can choose your preferable weapons before starting each race, and during race you can fill up your ammo by picking up yellow items spread across the tracks. I like this system, because this give you some tactical freedom, and you must decide which weapons help you most for fulfilling one of the several tasks you have to complete at each race. Another difference is that it’s hard to hit your opponents, because there is no automatic targeting system.
