Sephiria is a top-down action rogue-lite game with pixel graphics. Players take on the role of a rabbit in the village at the top of the tower and must change the fate of the tower from destruction. Go down the tower, meet various animals, and collect various artifacts and tablets to become stronger. That is the only way to prevent destruction. I’ve been absolutely loving Sephiria so far. As someone who’s been gaming for most of my life, I’m always on the lookout for something that hits that sweet spot between challenge and fun, and this game nails it. The variety in items, characters, and level design keeps every run feeling fresh, and the difficulty scaling is super well done—tough but fair, and your character progression matches it perfectly. But the real game-changer for me? Multiplayer. I’ve been following the dev since Dungreed, which I enjoyed but never played much of simply because it lacked co-op. These days, pretty much all my gaming time is with a close friend, so having multiplayer right out of the gate is huge. I haven’t had the chance to dive into it yet, but just knowing it’s there is all the motivation I need to keep playing and prepping for our first run together. There’s a large number of items, and the inventory management system is a great addition to this type of game. It also adds a bit of difficulty so you not only have to dodge projectiles but also manage yourself correctly.
