Overview Skinwalker Hunt:

Skinwalker Hunt is a horror themed hunting game from the creator of Witch Hunt. Main focus of the game is on exploration, non-linear gameplay, and atmosphere. You play as a Native American monster hunter, who will try to hunt down legendary creature called skinwalker in different parts of the world. You’ll be able to find and use different tools and abilities to hunt and survive. This game is definitely not for everyone – there’s a pretty steep learning curve right up front, and uncomfortable middle ground where things seem unfairly random  difficult… and then there’s the nice smooth end, where suddenly you realize you have everything you need to win and you might as well go shoot that monster already. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t fun. Exploring the handmade worlds, learning to deal with each of the enemy types, finding secret caches of items and abilities, leveling yourself up until you’re big and beefy and ain’t scared of no ghost… very satisfying if you’re willing to be patient with it, and learn as you go. (or wimp out and read guides.

Skinwalker Hunt Pre-Installed:

First off, for a solo dev, fantastic work. Secondly game is enjoyable and satisfying even if you’re not generally one to get scared at horror games. Now for feedback, firstly AI is simple, really simple. It needs improvement for the skinwalker itself but I know that’s one of the hardest things to do. Followers are interesting to fight especially with their juking but I’d like to see if you’d get even more bonus damage on a headshot when hitting them from behind (wherever not covered by the mask) to incentivize you seeing them before they see you. Randomizing the item placement and certain ammos drops and such mixes up playthroughs a little but adding a couple more items to the “rare gear” like a leather vest that gives you health or something. Mainly to strongly influence your playstyle during each hunt by insuring you have to play with the gear items you get rather than exploring till you get everything.
