Overview Sophistry Love & Despair:

Sophistry: Love and Despair” is the first episode of our multi series visual novel game. Sophistry” (6 episodes), and is expected to be released end of December 2021. Throughout the episodes, you’ll get to incarnate each of the main protagonists of the story (3 males and 3 females). Each episode can be played as an independent game, or in sequence as the choices made in previous episodes can be carried over making each playthrough absolutely unique and tailored to your preferences. In this episode, you incarnate the role of Cherryl.

Through her eyes, you’ll follow and guide her as she becomes entangled in a dramatic story of love, friendship, and betrayals. That being said, some mature topics and behavior will occur or be implied in text or visual, such as drinking, arguing/fighting, kissing, death, injuries, blood, weapons, suggestive comments or clothing (but no nudity). Some dialogs may feel offensive to some, but those are just the reflection of the character in the story itself and not our beliefs or political views.

It took a long time for the game to load, and after it did the animated title screen was very choppy. Navigating the menus also feels slow, like the game is severely unoptimized. There are some nice features like a route branch, but it only shows check marks for completed paths and no surrounding details. When I look at it, I can’t tell which decision led to what outcome unless I’m actively playing and at that particular branch. There is a CG library and an achievements list, and there are plenty of both to obtain. After starting the story,

I noticed a few things right away. First off, the characters look strange. They constantly bob their head around in an effort to be animated but it feels very robotic and unnatural. Static images would have worked better here. I also felt my attention constantly focused on their noses! I’m not sure why but it looks like they are constantly flaring their nostrils? The voice acting ranges from average to bad.
