I thought I’ll have my usual cereal, but I was wrong. This game is by far the best casual mystery game I’ve played so far. It has a really interesting story behind it, beside the graphics that are wonderfully done, the music which fits the ambient and the mechanics which are easy to understand from the very beginning. Although some things have tugged on my shoulder as inconvenient. To take a few examples: the fact that you have to use the screwdriver every time for every screw; the low quality of your protagonist’s voice even though the other characters have great accents / personalities; the “what do I do now” confusion in the last chapter where you are stuck in an ancient tomb.
All these will make you fill slightly off, but as the story unfolds, you will find yourself wanting more, wanting to find more of what has happened behind all those murders. And the killer will surprise you. I guarantee. The minigames/puzzles ranged from simple (which most of the puzzles tended to be) to difficult. I saw myself only skipping 3 puzzles throughout my playthrough. The Quetzlcoatl puzzle, the key puzzle, and the sun/moon puzzle. If you’re stuck on those puzzles, don’t feel bad…I couldn’t solve them either. Most of the other puzzles, though are very simple and I haven’t had a reason to really click the hint button often. There is one strange issue I had on my 2nd playthrough where clickable areas/backgrounds were replaced by plain white boxes. This may be due to me alt-tabbing mid-game. It was resolved when I shut the game down and rebooted it. Aside from that, the only real complaint I had was that the voice-acting would occasionally mistake the pronunciation on a word or a typo would catch my attention.
