I honestly think this is the best game I have ever played. The game play deviates from traditional RPG’s and gets the player involved by having a controllable heart during battles which keeps each battle fresh, game play wise, and unique every time.The difficulty allows for new players a chance to learn the mechanics of the game while veterans who have already mastered these mechanics still get a challenge every run. The story, world building, and characters are overall amazing. The blank slate protagonist that is Frisk connects the actual player to the characters and world. The actual monsters you befriend and fight are all unique and fun. There were few times where I ever thought this game was boring or repetitive. The main characters you meet are some of the most memorable parts of the game. Every one is distinct in their own way always contributing or adding something to the story that rarely feels like filler.
The best part of the game ,in my opinion, is the music. The music is heavenly and one of the best soundtracks to ever accompany a game in the history of the medium.The whole OST is just an eargasm. Every song is impactful, yes, even you Long Elevator. Every song fits every scene it accompanies, and does more than just enhances the experience, it completes it.This game has been out for years, I own it on three platforms, and have played through it multiple times, and it never loses it’s touch. It is such a great game, but it gives the best experience if you don’t know anything about it. If you haven’t seen anything about it (you live under a rock), then do not look anything up, buy the game, and play through it a few times, then look some stuff up. This game may be difficult the first and second time you go through it, but trust me, it gets easier. The only complaint I have about undertale is that there is no FINISHED hard mode. Naming yourself Frisk allows you to activate it, but once you finish the ruins area, you can not progress any further, and must start again, also renaming your character.
