Bought this in a sale and glad. Its no Endless Oceans and its not a simulator in anything more than a vague way. You dive collect objects, you can also make other aquatic life better using a magic ray gun as well as dematerialize nets and doors using a reverse ray gun.. like Portal but so much more dull… You will also become infuriated with the odd controls that change dependant on what you are using and you seem to always rotate around annoyingly. I spent most my time trying to re-map the controls to something more useful.. and even failed at that. You also have very little air, but perhaps that would upgrade later? who knows I got bored and uninstalled. Recommendation – Avoid, even in a sale its probably going to make you wish you’d saved your money like me, I have loved swimming most of my life. I used to be a life guard and do free diving. I played this game as it does stay it’s a “Simulator”. It’s not. I can’t pick any gear or equipment it’s just upgraded. When I resurface I am on a boat, that I can’t move on or explore. It would have been good if I could have been able to walk on the boat and pick gear, fish off the side and survive. sleep, wash and eat. But instead I can hit left or right to pick an area. Even though you upgrade gear it all feels the same game play which does get boring fast. Sure I can free a fish, pick up bottles and nets and open containers.
it just all felt the same old thing over and over with not put point other than level up to get more gear. I spent 1 hour in the game and many hours watching the live Steams to come to my opinon here, so I have seen more of the game than I have played and puzzle solving underwater is unrealistic too. I just feel it’s not branded correctly for what the content is. Its more a arcade casual sea exploring game and not a simulator as it states. It looks lovely but that’s wasn’t enough to keep my interest. As unrealistic Subnautica is with monsters it’s still a more realistic diving experience to this game and more point and varied in my opinion. But if your after a easy casual under water relaxing experience then this game is going to tick all the boxes and for this reason only I am going to recommend it as a Diving Simulator I don’t recommend this game.
