Dolls Nest is a 3D action game where you control a mecha girl as she explores the gigantic factory world of Hod on her journey to uncover the truth. Hod, the world which you inhabit, is a massive crater crawling with armored units. Broken machines and ruined buildings are strewn across its landscape. But fate can be cruel. You must scavenge the land for resources if you wish to survive in this ruined world. Make use of the parts and items you find on your journey, and overcome the trials that lie before you. Dodging and using weapons will consume energy. Be sure to manage your energy well and avoid running out of energy in the middle of a fight. Frame Units are capable of changing out and customizing parts. Select parts that are best suited for the situation at hand. The one glaring problem is with KBM controls, unlike some other games that have you pilot vehicles, the vehicle will usually play “catch up” with the center of your screen. This game unfortunately directly caps your camera speed to the turn speed of your mech, so it will feel EXTREMELY awkward to play this with a mouse, where your mouse input will be pretty much “eaten” by the game if you swipe it too fast for the mecha to turn. Great game, borrows from Armored Core and Dark Souls with gay abandon. The aesthetic is heavy unreal engine metals, dirt, and synthetics with a splash of moe paint.
