Robin just wants to be a mechanic and help people, but without a license she’s a sinner in Mother’s eyes. Ever since picking up her wrench, the world has been going nuts and she’s wanted to bolt it back together. Now Penance is raining down on everyone she loves and One Concern agents are after her. But something big is going on – bigger than droughts of Ivory fuel and personal conflicts – and Robin’s in the thick of it. I really kept playing it for the plot. The game is full of memorable characters and events that work well within the context of a platformer… well, an action puzzle. It touches on various themes such as camaraderie, family, religion, and control. Instead of having a major villain, it’s a group of systematic oppressors. Hunted Within The Walls

The downside is that it goes on a bit too long, but I suppose the author (yes, it’s developed by a single person) had his reasons. Also, some bosses and even enemies end up being very gimmicky, so much so that I ended up skipping them entirely because I didn’t know how to beat them. Iconoclasts is an amazing 2D Action/Adventure/Platformer with a heavy mix of Puzzles throughout the journey. Iconoclasts is NOT a Metroidvania in the traditional sense, but it has small bits of Metroidvania-like aspects such as exploration with a little backtracking to pick up items that you couldn’t before. If I was to give the game a rating it would be a solid 10/10 and I’ll go through what I think are the best aspects of the game in a moment.
