It’s alright but I wouldn’t recommend it. I’ve seen games from this developer a lot so I wanted to try one of their games and the cafe one stood out to me to the most. There is no fullscreen mode and the text on the menus are really big. The UI was confusing at first but I got used to it. I don’t like how whenever I open the menu to do something it pauses the game. I feel like I’m mostly looking at the menus when I play this…there are a lot of weird upgrade mechanics that confuse me. Like using random items that cost different prices but do the same thing basically to upgrade all the items and furniture. Then you gotta upgrade the food and drinks too. You need to research stuff and also create new drinks and food which takes time so you’re waiting for them to complete. You need to help people with their troubles but for some reason you have to pay money in order to help them. Sometimes you will fail to help them and need to pay again if you want to try again. One thing that really bothers me is that they locked making time pass by faster behind beating the game…if I beat the game I have no intention of playing this again so I think it’s pretty a dumb decision.
Recommended with a caveat. Overall it’s a fairly decent casual restaurant Sim, but not my favorite. When switching towns you literally just teleport the entire building there, instead of expanding into another store. Cafeteria Nipponica did this better, where you created a new restaurant and got passive income from your other branches. The drink development UI has no memory information, you won’t be able to see what you have and haven’t unlocked, this was done better in other games. NG+ is just bad because of this and starting from scratch having to look at wiki is not fun. Old games showed and remembered combos for this type of stuff. You can check recipes but not while creating drinks.
