One of my favorite games, I enjoy the romance between Arnice and Lilysse. Personally I don’t mind the system in the game at all and quite enjoy it and the mechanics they are very simple and straight forward. I definitely enjoy the Servans and little interactions that can come up with them throughout the game as well as it can add that little extra touch at times to finding which ones maybe you might favor as some will want to see them have a little more personality after all. If you like yuri and like some pretty straight forward combat I highly recommend this game~

Depends what you are looking for really, if you’re looking for a mindless button masher then this game will keep you busy for a while but if you’re looking for a game with lots of depth, you’ll be disappointed.Nights Of Azure is like Chaos Legion and Castlevania Curse Of Darkness in the sense that you summon creatures to aid you in battle, it also has a dark, edgy aesthetic to it which is kind of unusual for a Gust game but it does look pretty good. The soundtrack is also a strong point here, lots of rockin tunes. Basically get this if you are into games like Dynasty Warriors or other mindless beat em ups with high energy soundtracks.

Unfortunately the story is rubbish, it focuses way too much on this Yuri nonsense, I guess they had to attract the Otaku crowd in somehow for the easy money but most people won’t give a damn about the story, you play this just to kill time by button mashing to kill enemies, it’s a chill game for the most part really, like all Gust games in a way.Only buy if this sounds interesting to you, otherwise don’t bother.

If you like girls, and hack and slash action RPGs, and having animal companions, and top notch OSTs, and also girls loving each other…. then you’ll like this game a lot.I came into Nights of Azure blind only hearing about the yuri aspects of it (ofc), but I found myself loving it the more I played. The controls can be a bit clunky (it took a bit of messing around with it to map the controller) and the combos aren’t especially extraordinary for a hack and slash game, but I felt these were only minor setbacks in comparison to its good points.

For a new IP, Gust does a lot to keep it interesting. Players take control of Arnice, a holy knight tasked with protecting her childhood friend Lilysse, the Saint to be sacrificed to protect the world. It’s hard not to get attached to them as they further develop their relationship, and feelings for one another, as the eternal night draws nearer. Overall, the plot manages to keep you on your toes, while not overstaying its welcome, leading to an enjoyable action RPG experience.

As for gameplay, those familiar with hack and slash games shouldn’t have any trouble. The most notable feature unique to Nights of Azure is the Servans, companions loyal to Arnice that assist her in combat. Players can use a number of different servans, each with their own unique abilities, leading to different combat strategies. These also tie in to another unique feature, Arnice’s transformations in battle. Though the combos may not be very versatile compared to other hack and slash games, there are other aspects to combat that still make it pretty enjoyable.Overall, Nights of Azure was a very pleasant surprise. It’s a great RPG for a new IP, with memorable characters, excellent yuri, and fun combat, and it’s something I’ll definitely be playing again in the future.
