Rune II is an action-adventure video game. The game is based on the conflict between the Gods and the buildup to Ragnarok. Rune II allows you to play as Ragnar, a young warrior whose mettle is tested when Loki and the evils alliance-up in order to destroy the world and bring about Ragnarok. Rune Halls of Valhalla is a stand-alone expansion pack of the game. The game follows a fantasy plot based on Norse Mythology. As Ragnar you will face several enemies including man-eating fish, goblins, zombies and other Vikings. As you will make further progress in the game better weapons will be provided to you. Just at the end of the game, you will own weapons of the enormous size, and most of them will maintain their usefulness at the end of the game. All the weapons will be added to your Rune’s Power.

Weapons in Rune II are divided into several categories, swords, axes, and hammers. Each of these classes has five different weapons, while they will increase in size as the game progresses. Different weapons have different Rune powers while they can be activated for a specific period of time when you have enough Rune Power. Shields can also be acquired during the game. Besides the weapons, other items can also be acquired in the game such as torches and several limbs can also be equipped to be used as weapons.

Rune II features several of the multiplayer mode types such as DeathMatch, Team DeathMatch and other so on. One unique mode is also added to the game which is inspired by Football, in which the players split into teams and score points by picking up the body parts of the enemies and throwing them into goals.
