My Gf loves and plays this game a lot. but i have noticed The whole DLC packages for the game is total rip off. I hope sims fans get an apology but also more of making sure fans actually get the content they pay for when they buy the game. This is my favorite game that I can’t recommend. I love this game, as my playtime will tell, and I will continue to pour more hours into this game. I’m not giving a negative review because of the game’s “fun factor.” It’s very destressing, it’s chill, its difficulty is all in the hands of the players.

A perfect game that even people who have literally never touched a game before in their life can pick up and play. In reality, EA has erected a massive series of walls that you have to scale to reach that state, and this is the crux of the review. The ultimate problem is, and is the whole reason I’m giving this a negative review, is recommending people to buy this game because of the aforementioned walls. To say that they have become untenable is an understatement. They are nigh insurmountable at this point.
The first wall, and this is the point where most people stop at, is the pricing. Yes, this is the point EVERYONE talks about, so it’s the point I will discuss first. When it isn’t on sale, the Sims 4 is at a modest 20 dollars. However, that is also the base Sims 4 with no expansions or packs, which makes the game EXTREMELY limited in scope as to what you can do. Want to be a spellcaster? Want to attend university? Have cats or dogs? Have changing seasons in the weather? Those are SEPARATE DLCs! If you were to not get them on sale, it would run you a couple HUNDRED already! And this just getting started.
Now, to play Devil’s Advocate for a moment, this is only as bad if you buy it when it isn’t on sale, which the game goes on quite frequently. Deep sales, in fact! Up to 75% a lot of things, which bring down the price for everything by a couple hundred dollars. In fact, with the Summer Sale that’s coming up as of the time of writing this review, this game will most likely get significant price slashes. However, to counter that point, the asking price is still SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS. The prices become more manageable, but it is still a SIGNIFICANT investment. More of an investment than, frankly, I think this game deserves. And considering how Sims 3 with everything still costs such an outrageous amount, it would seem that those prices aren’t going anywhere for the time being.

This is because you are not using IDM, with browser you only get 2 connections from our server but with IDM you get 8 connections and you get very fast speed, plus you can pause the download too. This isnt normal, it should not take more than 10 minutes to download.

Can you please tell me the version of your mac?. And here is a quick fix try it and see if it works. Go to Finder > Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and cut Options.ini and Usersettings.ini and lastcrash.txt and paste them on your desktop and then run the game.

I was able to download the game with no issues on mac. When I tried to copy the folder to the applications I got this message “operation cant be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items”
Rena there is no problem with the file its your MAC. You do not have permissions here is what you can do apply the below fix, If still you get the issue there are more guides on google to fix this issue so follow them.
Click on the folder contaiing the files and control click on it, choose Get info > under permissions unlock the pad lock, and set permissions to read and write. Click on the gear below and set to all inside.

I’m trying to update the game,I saw somewhere in the comments I had to redownload the game,to update it, and for me it took around a day, with Folx, to download it the first time. I don’t really understand what your saying, I still want to save my progress, when I redownload the game.

Hi, I was accidentally downloaded and installed wrong files, named ‘The Sims 4 For Mac Download Free.dmg’ and ‘Your File Is Ready To Download.dmg’. It launches CubeInstaller but I see no new app installed in my laptop. It just opened a link in a browser when the installing process is done.

Okay so you have to delete the previous version of the game, but you can save your game saves, mods, and your downloaded lots by taking these folders: Mods folder, which has the mods, Saves folder, which has your game saves, and the Tray folder, which has your downloaded houses; out of “Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 .”
You should put those three folders in Desktop. You can delete the old version of the game by going to applications, right click the game icon and press “move to trash”
After you downloaded the new version, launch the new game and then exit it, the new Mods, Saves, and Tray folders should show up in the new game folders. Go back to Desktop, take all the files in each of the three folders, and place it in the new folders of the game.
Relaunch the new version of the game, and all of you game data is back! Happy Simming!
