In 2080, corrupt corporations effectively run everything. Three major corporations attempted to crack into the hacker group Rinascita’s hidden server but failed to gain access. Fueled by a plea from a email, X, the group’s greatest code cracker, sets out to break into each corporation’s servers to dig up any useful information. Rinascita’s other members will provide support and help X uncover the truth! This game is incredibly fun and made with a lot of heart. I love the creativity and the personality put into the Hackers, the boss characters, the designs of the enemies, and how creative the synergies and builds can get.

There’s so many options to change up your playstyle, the game takes great advantage of its being a digital world to really go crazy. There are four weapon types currently available, and they feel very distinct from one another. Additionally, there’s plenty of build variety to enjoy, and a steadily increasing challenge available to match the meta-progression. At the time of review, X Invader is still in early access, with an active developer. Even if no further content were to be added (which seems unlikely at this time), the game would still be a good value for its five dollar price tag. This is a charming game. The enemy designs ooze personality, especially the ooze.
