This needs more praise since it does try to revive the whole Slender experience, but with male fantasy. And now, I would like to take a moment and praise another area the addition of the dodge improved — the boss fights. Lame bosses were one of my main issues with the previous remake. They were slow and had predictable attacks with long wind-up time to give my stiff ass a way to scamper away to safety.

I don’t want that — I want unpredictable, fast attacks and needing to dodge them, damnit! Thankfully, Capcom obliged, with the dodge mechanic giving them more freedom when designing the boss fights. And playing on the hardest difficulty, the fun factor and challenge these boss battles provided was amplified tenfold, thoroughly satisfying my masochistic cravings.The visual-audio duet is on point, setting up each location’s spook flawlessly. The RE Engine once again radiates immersion; dark, gritty, messy, pulpy, but also clean and crips when it needs to be.
