planetarian: Snow Globe Direct Download:
“planetarian: Snow Globe,” prequel to “planetarian: The Reverie of a Little Planet,” is a kinetic (digital) novel. There are no story branches based on choices. The story proceeds as if you were watching an anime or movie, or turning the pages of a novel. Enjoy a touching story with beautiful graphics and binaural audio, brought to life by the realistic and colorful performances of a talented cast of voice actors. In the near future… Yumemi Hoshino, a companion robot equipped with autonomous AI, is assigned to work at a planetarium at a suburban town department store. Yumemi, known for her diligent work, one day starts to ignore orders and repeatedly abandons her duties. This is a story about Yumemi, her co-workers, and their simple, everyday moments of happiness. COMBOLITE
Fundamentally, it’s a fairly lukewarm & inoffensive addition to an already great work: If you disliked planetarian, then Snow Globe isn’t going to do anything to change your mind. If you liked planetarian and found yourself wanting just that little bit more, then this short sequel is worth a look. Even though Snow Globe is the prequel to planetarian, I’d still suggest starting with the latter, and then picking this up if (and only if) you just want a little bit more backstory. I feel like the musical throwbacks will land better if you start with the older title, and you’ll be less likely to bounce off of it by starting there.
